awestruck

Been quite awhile since I’ve last posted anything worth reading. But lately with everything occurring in my life, it’s worth sharing…

Recently, there have been times where I sit back and look at the wonders of God. Around me and in my life. From my walk with God, to the wonderful woman the Lord has brought me, to how he’s been providing and protecting me when I’m at my lowest.

I’ve grown. I’ve seen the path set before me. His grace is in abundance and and I’m drowning in it.

I’m ready.

16 years old. Young. Fresh. New to this world of worshiping a spirit of grace and love. Having faith in the unseen. Not totally aware of what I was getting myself into, but without a shadow of a doubt, I knew I was in love. Ambitious and determined to seek God and all that he had for me at a tender age.

Not that great of a guitar player, epsecially lead guitar. But having faith in where I was place gave me the drive and motivation to pursue what had been set before me. To something special in someone’s eye. Someone seeing a bright future from the first look at me. Giving me an opportunity to rise up and accept my position in this life of Christ. Thank you Pastor Doug. My mentor. My Friend. My brother.

First song that I ever learned was “Take It All” by Hillsong UNITED. Having learned it a week before and not completely understanding the chords. I remember being introduced by Michael Hogan. “Everybody welcome our newest member to the team, Adrian Ordonez!” Never had I felt more excepted. Never have I felt more at home.

From that point on, I knew what I was created for. My purpose in life. City to city. State to state. Country to country. Having tremendous mentors and leaders along the way. Befriending and working with talented musicians and singers along the way. Watching new team members rise up and having the honor of mentoring them.

Epicenter LIVE. N’Prayz. Elevate. TMP.CS. I’m walking down this narrow path before me, but it’s lined with riches and my God is walking with me every step of the way. The story continues…

“You got me when i was in an unformed youth, God, and taught me everything I know. Now I’m telling the world Your wonders.” -Psalm 71:17

“Now You’ve got my feet on the life path, all radiant from the shining of Your face. Ever since You took my hand, I’m on the right way.” Psalm 16:11

Simply, amazing.

Every heart will see this hope we have in You.

Feeling the enemy’s purpose to steal, kill, and destroy. But I won’t give him the satisfaction of his existence.

Living In Reverie: What am I doing with my life?

maddiejayy:

I survived cancer, I survived the blood poisoning and nearly fatal infection in my lungs that followed after. God kept me around on this earth longer for a reason. God has a purpose for me here.

What am I doing with my life?

I’ve conquered some of my biggest fears. I’m living proof I that you…

Hillsong Conference 2009 - With Everything

Still gives me chills..

The Road

I, just got back from Downey CA. My body hurts, I have a killer headache, and I have no idea what day it is. But here I am. Popped in some pain killers and away I go.

I had an amazing time celebrating our King with PC Downey in their first service in their new building. The sound and cry of praises were loud and desperate. I danced, I sang, I shouted the name of Jesus, for He is our King. Thank you Downey for an incredible night!

I’ve recently been able to share my passion and that I feel called to do with some brothers and sisters. It’s no secret, I’m a musician. I sing, eh, alright. I’m gifted, I’m blessed, and I intend to use this gift in anyway possible to win souls for the Lord. Along the way, teach and rise up future musicians, worship leaders, soul winners with the gift Christ has implanted in them.

Ever since The Men’s Impact conference in San Jose, I’ve felt lead to take my gift on the road. Whether myself with and acoustic guitar or with a full team of talented people. Taking up every opportunity to worship with more of God’s children in another neighborhood, city, state, even a prison, and soon, another country. Also to fellowship, hear and share stories and testimonies of what God has done in other people’s lives and how I can be blessed from hearing about their experiences.

I’m notorious for being pulled up on stage last minute for a gnarly worship session. But it’s always a handful of fun to work with people I don’t often see and/or work with.

The road, the traveling, the hours spent driving or flying, the new people to meet, the seeing of lives being healed, the hearts being touched, the more hours spent driving or flying, the fast food and last night dinners, the question of ”what day is it?”, the bad note or timing mess ups during a song that we can’t help but laugh about, the random acts of shenanigans and tomfoolery, the collaborating with other musicians and worshipers, the presence of God dwelling, the Lord over everything.

My Passion.

My calling.

My Life.

My life will never be slow paced, there’s no time for a pit stop while in pursuit of God.

Will you be a apart of it? I’d like to think so.

See ya further on up the road.

What Love Could Withstand

After what seemed like a 1,589,509,708,374 hour day, I’m home after a heavy nap and tumblin’ away. Mumford & Sons tuned into my ears and a Gatorade in arms reach. Let’s do this..

Ever come across something that totally left you in awe? Something you just took in a marveled at? We all have. Whether it was a prized possesion, a relationship, materials, or just a weird and awkward item that dampens your social life. But hey, whatever floats your boat!

On this past Friday afternoon I met an eldery gentleman by the name of Ken Hitch. He immediately insisted that I call him “Grandpa Ken”. Really liked the guy already. He had delivered medication for my grandmother and my mother had engaged in a conversation with him. As I walked by my mom she insisted that I get a flyer for church. I did so and decided to stay and meet the man.

My mom, being a gnarly Christ follower, invited Grandpa Ken to bible study that night. He said that he’d love to attend but his wife, Dorothy, had been ill for some time, but he’d definately love to visit our church when an opportunity comes along.

He had already attended a church In Selma, CA, so nothing we were talking about was foreign to him. He has family who minister and pastor churches across the nation, so you could imagine talking about who lives where and who does what in his family for God. Even those who don’t serve the Lord. Regardless, he still loves them.

What really stood out to me in our conversation was how he met his wife Dorothy. Every timehe mentioned his wife his face lit up and his bright blue eyes sparkled, as if he had just met this “dark haired gal” for the first time and was so eager to tell everyone about her.

Almost 60 years ago, he was enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 and eventually became a Sargent. A friend of his invited him to church.

In Grandpa Ken’s words:

“I asked my buddy who is that dark haired gal over there? She’s gorgeous. I really wanted to find out who she was, but didn’t have to nerve to talk to her. After the service we had gone to a get together at a friend’s house and what do you know, there she was.”

53 years later, they remain happily married, I just took that in. 53 years not including their time of dating. How amazing is that? Amazing what love can withstand. Without a doubt there where trails and bumps along the road but here they are today.

Now, this is isn’t where I tie it in with God, it’s more of a personal thing within us.

Ohhhhh, I used the “P” word! Ohhhhh. Yup personal. Here we go..

So many times we come across opportunities to love, to care for someone. Now, not only meaning between a man and a woman, but a friend, family member, coworker, classmate, even our own church members. Where’s the love in that handshake? That “Hi”? Or the ”I’m gonna ignore that person because I don’t want to talk to them right now”? We all do it.

Don’t be so proud for love.

“I don’t have to love anyone. Just God, and God loves me.”

Then what’s the point?

The lost, the broken, the least of these. Where are we? “Where is the love”?

We long to be like Christ, and Christ’s love endures forever.

Couples like ken and Dorothy proves just that. Just take the time to embrace it. God’s not dead. God is love. Love is alive. Let Love Rule.

“Where you invest your love, you invest your life.”

“Awake My Soul” by Mumford & Sons

Hmm, I love it when God shows up.
